Industrial design is about designing and developing industrial products for mass production. The industrial designer uses engineering designs or product designs to create industrial products like laptops, phones, appliances etc. Industrial designer deals with the aesthetics, usability, safety and the functionality of the product.
Industrial designing is often confused with product designing. Product designing is a subset of Industrial designing. For the product designer, it is not mandatory to have a knowledge of manufacturing process and engineering design. They design products like home decor, plastic items, home decor, housewares, accessories etc.
